Robert has worked in adventure travel ever since graduating university with an archaeology degree. He has been a Mountain Guide in the Himalayas and Karakorum mountain ranges, leading a wide selection of holidays including walking, biking, rafting and cultural trips. He has also run trips in a number of African countries, including Ethiopia and Lesotho. Robert has detailed knowledge of running successful tour operations in both the UK and overseas. His experience includes a three-year period as Operations Manager of Exodus, one of the largest of the UK's adventure tour operators, where he was in charge of its walking programmes. In 1992 he co-founded Karakoram Explorers, a Pakistani Tour Operator offering trekking, rafting and cultural itineraries. In addition, this company successfully supported climbers onto summits of several 8000 m. peaks, including K2. In 1996 he founded Real World Travel Ltd., specializing in walking and biking holidays in France and Italy, which were sold on a subcontract basis. In 1998, enthused by the possibilities of the Internet to market and sell quality holidays, he founded realworld-travel.com, which was launched on the 3rd July 2000 at the Royal Geographical Society in London. |

Ruth left university with a degree in Law (with European Studies and French), and then took a Masters in Tourism Management. Her work in travel commenced with Hyatt Hotels and later included a two year management training course with Saga Holidays. Ruth joined realworld-travel.com in June 2000 from Simply Travel, where she was Programme Manager, in charge of sales, reservations and operations for their Cities and Short Breaks programme. With her extensive and varied tourism background, and her fluency in French and Spanish, Ruth works with our partners to ensure realworld-travel.com offers a wide range of quality itineraries at a keen price. |

| Tim
has been a keen expeditioner since his university days when a ten-week trek
across the Pyrenees gave him the taste for adventure. Leaving university
with a Degree in Engineering, Tim decided to work in adventure travel before
settling down to a more conventional career. Working as a leader for Exodus,
Tim led trips in over ten countries - including ascents of Elbrus in Russia,
trekking peaks in the Nepal Himalayas and uncharted routes through the mountains
of Iran.
Tim then took a field position with Merlin, providing administrative and logistics support for a large medical program in Tajikistan. On his return to the UK, he worked with e-commerce companies and set up Trip-Zone.com Limited, a company that has now merged with realworld-travel.com. |

After graduating from Liverpool University, Mun went to work and travel in America for three months. She then lived and worked in Hong Kong during the hand-over year 1996/97, before backpacking around China and Australia, where she became a qualified diver. This led her to the land of the rising sun. Based in Nagasaki, Japan, she took numerous trips around Asia, including snowboarding in Korea, horse-riding in Mongolia, and Scaling the Wild Great Wall of China. Mun has recently returned to England from a long trip around Asia, where she did some rafting and trekking in Nepal, diving in Thailand, and extensive haggling in China, to name a few. She joined realworld-travel.com in August 2000, and is their Asia Expert. |

Paul started his career in travel over 15 years ago working for Peltours, one of the leading UK specialists to Israel. In 1991 he joined SARtravel Ltd., where he was responsible for arranging tailor-made itineraries to southern Africa. During his time at SARtravel Ltd., he travelled extensively within southern Africa, visiting Cape Town, The Garden Route, and Mpumalanga in South Africa. In Zimbabwe he travelled to Harare, Victoria Falls, Bulawayo and Lake Kariba (which is his favourite destination!) Within Botswana he stayed at the Okavango Delta, and at the Selinda Private Reserve, where he undertook a two day walking safari. |

Phillip graduated from university with a degree in Afro-Portuguese, Brazilian and Religious Studies. He then lived in northeast Brazil for two years, working as an English teacher, as well as an impromptu guide and interpreter for overseas visitors - roles that gave him the opportunity to travel widely throughout this vast country. On returning to the UK, Phillip became a tour leader with Education First, escorting young Latin Americans around Europe, and then took up a position with Journey Latin America, the Latin American specialists, selling flights, hotels and FITS across the whole continent. Tourleading with JLA has given him the chance to gain firsthand knowledge of Colombia and the Caribbean coast, as well as improving his Spanish. Phillip also gained valuable experience through running his own company, Connection Brazil - London, which functioned as an inboard operator for south American visitors to London. He joined realworld-travel.com in August 2000, and is responsible for researching, administering and selling Latin America travel adventures. |

Colin's background is exploration, research and computing. For ten years he conducted mineral exploration in the wilder parts of the Middle East, southeast Asia and Latin America, before returning to head up geological research at RTZ plc in London. Since 1988 Colin has been involved in a number of publishing and computing companies. His recent assignments have included a wide range of web design and database work. Colin joined realworld-travel.com in December 1999. |

Paul has been a friend and travelling colleague of Robert Ferguson since university days. They made their lasting friendship travelling for six months together, predominantly by boat in south Kalimantan, Borneo and on bicycle in southern China. Paul has worked for five years as Associate Director at Hanover Financial Group Ltd., equity investors in realworld-travel.com, but he recently took a six month sabbatical to central America to study Spanish in Guatemala and to teach an Economics course in Costa Rica. Antony is a Chartered Accountant who has spent most of his working life in corporate finance.
